Past Projects 2015

Awarded by Straits Constructions for 25 units of Overhead cranes , Semi – Gantry crane, Wall Travelling Jib crane, and Cement Bucket Crane for ICPH 2

Jenmon was awarded by Straits Construction to supply and install a total of 25 units of cranes, consisting of Gantry cranes, Overhead cranes, and Jib cranes for their newly Integrated Construction and Prefabrication Hub (ICPH) at Kakit Bukit.

This was one of the key initiatives the government has introduced to upgrade the productivity of the construction industry by adopting highly productive technology and automation. When fully completed in 2016, the plant will have an annual production capacity of more than 60,000 m3 of precast components, much more than what a conventional precast yard can produce with the same factory space.

Despite the constrained working space available for installation as well as a need for maximum hook height, Jenmon's team overcame the challenges and successfully installed the cranes on site. Not only Jenmon met the requirements of the technical specifications of the cranes but also demonstrated the well planned and coordinated partnership with the customer.

Awarded by Gammon Construction for 2 units of 40 ton Gantry cranes for Land Transport Authority (LTA) -  Singapore MRT Limited (SMRT)/ Track Sleeper's Replacement projects

Many people come across the gigantic gantry cranes standing in the midst of the trail along the way of East – West Line (EWL) between Chinese garden & Lakeside stations and Pasir Ris station - North South Line (NSL). These two Jenmon fixed gantry cranes are deployed to speed up the works along the tracks, which includes the replacement of rail sleepers.

This project is considered as quite new and the first trial in Singapore and it had been awarded to Gammon Construction Pte Ltd, which is a subsidiary company of Gammon. This firm mainly contributes to Singapore's infrastructure including completion of many contracts for the Land Transport Authority as well as having completed several major projects in the commercial and petrochemical sectors.

Jenmon had been appointed by Main Contractor Gammon Construction to install 2 units of Fixed Gantry cranes for a replacement of the sleepers. These two fixed gantry cranes installed with various safety devices, which were used to hoist the Road Rail Vehicles (RRV) lifting system and Concrete sleepers for the replacement of the current wooden sleepers deploying more effectively to the work front thus allowing more sleepers to be replaced. Contrariwise, using conventional mobile cranes and long set up time would be costly and impossible.

Prior to the selection of the fixed gantry, Jenmon, and its team brainstormed with the customer a few designs option. With the help of understanding the customer's needs and constraints especially the short working duration of 3 hours in the wee morning with no disruption at day time train operation, Jenmon fixed gantry came to fruition.

Jenmon's value of delivering a safe and quality equipment is a true testament in this project from installing daily operational checklist to weekly maintenance and monthly maintenance and every 6 monthly load test and inspection. Jenmon's crane specialists could diligently and professionally proceed the daily safety operation with the customer safety personnel to check to prevent and stop any possible safety breach . Thus putting a premium on "Safety".

Today ,these two gantry cranes can be found on the North-South MRT line of Pasir Ris MRT station and East West MRT line between Chinese Garden and Lakeside MRT station.
